Star Wars: The Old Republic Pre-Orders Available

News out of Comic Con today proved yesterday’s leak on the collectors edition of Star Wars: The Old Republic to be absolutely spot on. This morning EA announced that they have begun to take pre-orders for the game, of which there are three editions to choose from: The Standard Edition, The Digital Deluxe Edition and the Collector’s Edition, although no release has been set as of yet. Aside from guaranteeing your copy at release pre-ordering will also net you a ‘Color Stone’ for customising the colour of your lightsaber or blaster bolts as well as early access to the game.
Digital Deluxe copies are available exclusively through EA’s digital distribution service Origin and come with five additional items for use in-game. There are also links to pre-order the standard edition and the collector’s edition, which comes packed with all of the goodies detailed yesterday.
At the moment the only link that is working for the UK is GAME where the Collector’s Edition is on sale for ‘only‘ £129.99, with the standard at £39.99. You might think the digital version would save you a few quid with there being no packaging or distribution costs, and no retailer as middleman, but ordering from Origin is actually more expensive, with a standard edition at £44.99 and the digital deluxe at £59.99.
Looks like you’ll pay a premium to get a hold of one of these apparently limited pre-order copies. I want to play this game but I’m going to hope the price drops a little prior to release.
